1. The Satellite Radio will not make it because the CEO of Sirius will be the head of the new company, when the chairman of XM will just keep his previous role. This chairman will be jealous and soon want more control, the two men will fight, and there will be two companies again.
2. The merger will help the industry because their would only be one radio station instead of two. Their would be much more viewers if they are merged.
3. The merger will help consumers because they will listen to this station instead of having to decide if they should listen to XM or Sirius radio. Their choice will always be the same now.

"Online Life"
Questions
1. "When it is more important to be seen than to be talented, it is hardly surprising that the less gifted among us are willing to fart our way into the spotlight." - Lakshmi Chaudhry. What is your reaction?
2. What would you do if someone took a compromising picture of you and posted it on the Internet? Should people have a right to say if they don't want a picture online?
3. Is the "truly private life" an illusion? Why or why not?
4. What does the author mean by the "Creolization of media"?
5. “Things that were not silly. I tried to make my posts highly stylized and short, about things I would imagine people would want to read or comment on.”- I've wondered this about websites like reddit.com. Could the same be said for newspapers?
6. "When she worked at American Apparel, management posted encouraging remarks on employee MySpace pages." Personally, I find this weird. What do you think?
7. Iamfacingforeclosure.com is a site written by an idiot. Acknowledge he is an idiot for getting in so much trouble with money.
8. What is your reaction to the article? Did you enjoy it?
Answers
1. The less gifted should not be heard by others so they should keep their comments to themselves. They do what ever they can to be famous, even though they are often infamous.
2. If someone took a picture of me and posted it on the Internet, I would beat them up and threaten them until they take it off. People should have a right to say if they don't want a picture online because without there permission we don't know if they are embarrassed and we will cause them to do some things that they will regret. They should be able to approve of the picture before it is displayed publicly.
3. The "truly private life" is an illusion because if you have a website, you will receive comments about certain aspects of the website. You will never be left alone do to many comments from viewers. Anybody can read about your life and they can criticize you for it.
4. The author means that the media leaves ridiculous comments on the website about her and they give her advice on what to do about her private life.
5. The same could be said for newspapers because readers would like articles that are interesting and short that they could comment on. They don't want a long, boring article in which they fall asleep. They want to be entertained about important, educational, interesting articles.
6. I think it is weird too. I don't know why her manager would have posted comments on her myspace. Her myspace is unrelated to her work at American Apparel so her boss had no right to go into her private life.
7. He is a loser for getting in trouble for money. He is irresponsable for letting himself get into debt and buying houses that he can't afford and attempting to make money off of. If you want money so bad, you should buy maybe buy one property that you can afford instead of buying a whole bunch of houses that you are willing to sell instintly.
8. I did like the article because it gave advice and talked about some incidents with famous people. We can learn from these mistakes and make sure we do the right thing.

Marginalization-to place in a position of marginal importance, influence, or power
Inarticulate-lacking the ability to express oneself, esp. in clear and effective speech
Political-of, pertaining to, or concerned with politics

This is true because if you are literate, you will be able to be heard on the Internet, but if you are illiterate, nobody will understand your position and nobody will support your view.
People are speaking out more and being heard by different audiences. If you are literate, people will understand your statement and you will be noticed, but if you are illiterate, nobody will hear what you are saying and you will have to keep it to yourself instead of in public. President Bush is speaking out and being heard about the war in Iraq. On websites, people state their opinions to be heard by everyone so others will see their point.
articulate- uttered clearly in distinct syllables.
marginalization- to place in a position of marginal importance, influence, or power.
