Computers hve changed majorly over the past decade to many reasons. One includes it doubles speed every 18-24 months. If this occurs, that means 10 years ago it was 32 times less advanced than it is now. This can improve businesses and people can set up different websites that can be useful to others around the world. When businesses create websites they can get people to invest in their company and thgey can become a stockholder. In the next ten years computers might be so advanced that you can ask them to type for you and they will be able to do it while you read to them. They will be talking to you and you could be asking for them to get you the best possible website for that category. They will start doing homework fo you and you won't get too much smarter. Throughout the next decade computers will be doing what human do.

computer- an electronic device that accepts data, performs computations, and makes logical decisions according to instructions and data that have been given to it and that produces meaningful information in a form useful to humans
general-purpose computers- term(s) used to identify computers in which their computation and input/output processing capabilities are such that they can be used for almost any type of application
information- data that enters the computer
information/data processing- the process of sharing information between humans and computers
information utilities- businesses that use computers to store hugh amounts of information available for personal use
application program- a program that instructs the computer to perform a specific, undefined task
computer system- a combination of related elements(hardware and software) working together to achieve a common goal
hardware- tangible, physical equipment that can be seen and touched
input- forms that become the source of the data entered into the computer's input device
input device- a hardware device that permits the storage of data
microminiaturization- the technologic process that enables an entire microprocessor to occupy the space of a tiny chip no larger than the size of your fingertip
output- useful information that leaves the computer
output device- a hardware device that reports processed information in a form that humans can understand
processing- activity that takes place in the computers what should be done to the data to produce the desired information
processor- a hardware device that processes data into meaningful information
program- a series of detailed, step-by-step instructions that tell the computer what actions to perform
raw data/original data- data from a source document that is fed into the computer for processing
software- the intangible instructions that tell the computer what to do
source document- a hardware device which enables the computer to accept data
storage device- a hardware device that permits the storage of data
system program- a program that controls the computer's circuitry and hardware devices
